Is Painting My Room During The Winter a Good Idea?

Is painting my room during the winter a good idea?

Absolutely! Painting your room in the winter is an excellent idea. Winter can offer a calming reprieve from your hectic days, making it perfect for a winter paint job. Though exterior painting is usually done in the spring or summer, interior painting can be done year-round.

Here are some some recommendations if you are painting your room this winter room paint project during the winter:

  • Turn the heat up.

One of the perks of painting inside is that you can regulate the temperature in your home. Don't forget to use this in your advantage. Turn it up! a couple degrees especially if painting one of the colder rooms in your house. Latex paint dries faster when warmer.

  • Use Low VOC Paints or non-VOC paint. ( Sanzula paint is Low VOC paint )

You don't want those toxic paint fumes stuck in your room.

  • Keep good ventilation in the room.

This will ensure the paint dries properly and dries faster.

Consider leaving the windows open (if not too cold or humid) to aid drying times and paint fume extraction.

Contractor tip: We use a fan in the middle of the room and also use a dehumidifier if interior house painting during the winter months.
